A little update...

Hi everyone,

We are living our best life here in Texas (no not really), but we're making due! I can't say I miss the frigid WI/CO winters, but after a summer of near constant 110 degree days, I am officially ready for fall. Bring on the pumpkins, witches and Samhain! I recently binge-watched Salem for the second time. Getting t.v. chill on when you're a momma/teacher/short order cook/and master finder of the things in the house, is damn near impossible. Just as I settle into my warm snuggly faux furry bed, tea and kitty at close hand, my door ever so slowly creaks open. This of course alerts Jasper (check IG) and he must investigate, unintentionally clawing me to sleuth. I set my tea down, resisting the urge to expressly and loudly sigh (this is the seventeenth interuption in a 45 minute show.) We're on year thirteen. Momma needs a break.

That's why I will soon be traveling to New Orleans!!! Food. Music. Marie Lavaeu. And my laptop. Cafe Du Monde and her delicious Louisiana Chicory and Beignets are calling to this Creole girl. :D (Be on the lookout for that travel vlog mid November!)

In book news. You all know that my son became very sick in 2016. It's been three years of trying to diagnose his issues and treat him, in the least invasive ways. Navigating life, work, doctors, and insurance companies is a feat like no other. I am happy to announce that my baby is headed in the right direction and it only goes up from here.

His downward spiral and the duties of mommyhood have unfortunately made it very challenging and downright impossible to put pen to paper, or finger to keys. We published Book of Gates and I had every intention of releasing the fifth installment of House of New Gods last year, but that didn't happen. I have started. It's a slower process than I'd like, but that's indie author life.

The story continues and I am incredibly humbled as always to come across new fans of the series, especially when they reach out from thousands of miles away. Without true marketing and a constant online presence, that floors me, and brings me such joy. It truly is an honor to be able to touch lives. It means the world!

I wish you all love and light and peace, and will be working hard to bring you more stories.

A little hello, from Texas...

Hello! After a quick update here I wanted to anounce a few exciting things on the horizon, but first, I hope you all enjoyed Book of Gates. If you haven't had the chance please have a peek, let me know your thoughts as always. I am currently in writing mode after a hiatus to deal with some very personal health issues with my son. As we slowly navigate this new terrain, I am eagerly reaching for these keys. Characters demand to be heard and I so must give them my ear. I hope with everything in me that I can have the fifth installment of House of New Gods out by March 2018 or sooner. I also desire to release two other non related titles as well, and will be excited to hear your feedback! In the meantime I will be continuing the editing process here as well as adding new content (pictures, trailers, clips, art etc.) Please enjoy, connect, and each of you have a very merry and safe holiday! Cheers! S.A.

I had written a short but important message to you all, regarding my absence, but its been eaten by the internet. It's probably better this way. It leaves me open to simply say, I am back, online, have not forgotten you, and do deeply apologize that this precarious life with its ever twists and turns, keeps me captive. Balancing is not too much a feat, but when constant malicious software, hackers, and bad CPU's wreak havoc, staying on task proves, daunting. Thanks to my lovely partner and my brother-in-law, a Geek Squad genius, I am seated in front of a lovely brand new Dell, have downloaded almost all my necessities for work, and can happily say, the keys are warm. I thank you all for your love, loyalty, and messages of encouragement as we proceed this quirky Indie journey together. I will post about upcoming projects that are in the works, but for now, please enjoy the site's reboot and let me know what you think, or if you have suggestions. ~SA

2020 and all the things...

2020, what can I say? Let's not, shall we.

Let's start better...

It's Friday night. It's been over two months of quarantine-ing with my littles, both are those immuno-compromised types you've read about. If you're like us then you may still be in relative hiding. If you're out and about as we are occasionally then I wish you fresh air, healthy body, and sunny skies.  It's always maddness navigating work with an already round the clock education schedule at home, plus...all the things. With our current state of affairs, re-vamping and re-launching House of New Gods teeters between a lifeline for some, and offensive to others. I've decided that for my family, for my sons, for my readers those devoted beautiful souls, and for my own sanity, I will be re-launching with Amazon this year. I encourage you all to re-read and fall back in love, maybe further than before. I welcome new minds to devour this series, and open arms to those who think otherwise and care to give honest feedback. Please, you're all welcome here. I'll keep everyone updated on all my social media; twitter, facebook, instagram, goodreads etc, when the launch is happening. In the weeks leading up I'll be sharing posts, pictures, inspirations, and back story to my writing process and what the last intensely creative decade plus has been like. Little #2 is doing much better than even last year, isn't going out much around people due to his lungs, but is healthy and happy! Great news and greater news for this mama who is needing to be at her computer round the clock! Check the new covers and trailers. The peanuts make their debut on the Book of Gates cover, and p.s. it's AMAZING!!!

Stay healthy friends,
